Art Journal Tip #11

hearts and more heart

another version of hearts
employ bleed-thru in your art-journal pages.

i leave the pages on back and front without gesso.  use markers to draw your page on the front side.  when you finish turn to the back and you will have bleed through.  it is at that point i lightly gesso the page and smash it together with the adjoining page.  after letting it semi-dry, peel the pages.  you will have another transfer. i then journal and finish up the pages with more definition (or not).

the lay-outs above are the two different examples of unfinished and defining the page with pen.

try new techniques that you yourself make up - i discovered this technique by accident when i first started keeping an art journal.
