what is the heart of the matter?

in light of the destruction and animosity that we have seen happening in the world this week - i pose the question what is the heart of the matter?  

"fly"

does what is happening with the displays of anger and hatred fit in with the simplicity of the statement "blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God."  

"rest"

with the threats, bomb-scares and oppression that we have observed this week, can we find the fruit of the teaching "blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth."

"extended hands"

we need to examine our hearts and follow after the teaching of Jesus - "blessed are the merciful:  for they shall obtain mercy."  

to whom much is given, much is expected.  we have been given much, let us give our all.
