parable of the wolf

the parable of the wolf goes as follows:
"peace of heart"
a wise old man was talking to a young boy and said,  "there are two wolves always fighting inside me. one is filled with anger, hate, jealousy, shame and lies.
the other wolf is filled with love, joy, truth and peace.
this battle rages inside of you and all men."
"pieces of the heart"
the boy thought for a moment and asked, "which wolf will win?"
the old man answered, "the one you feed."

in the words of mark twain:
"anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured."

in the words of the Bible, exodus 14:14
"remain at peace, God will fight your battles"

have a peace-filled day

  1. Anger is a tricky thing...many of us, including myself can pretend we are not angry! That gets us nowhere. I just read this moments ago, "if we will listen for our heavenly Father's voice, we will discern His call to repentance - not for our anger, but for our self- destructive and other- destructive ways of dealing with that anger."

Your journal pages are beautiful, and the parable right...but I am learning there is so much underneath the anger, hate...etc. I am weary of trying to stop the surface sins...and really they can't be until we deal with their roots.

    Grace and peace!

    1. Hi Mary,
Thank you for your comments - I always enjoy hearing what God is speaking though you. I agree 100% with what you have shared. I will blog about the roots of anger soon. The quote is powerful.

Part of the beauty of journaling for me, is that I am able to express exactly how I feel and ask God for help. The red "peace of heart" has a lot of journaling about anger and God's response to me - under the red paint.

      Thankful for His peace!
