this is the day

 "this is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24

Psalm 118 is a portion from the Hallel spoken/sung as a unit during different Jewish holidays/celebrations.  in Matthew 26:30, it is recorded that after the Passover meal Jesus and his disciples sang a hymn before they went out to the Mount of Olives.

the road that lay before the Son of God was one of 

humiliation, torture, abandonment, social injustice and every cruelty imaginable.  

and yet on that night of sorrows, 

He sang with His disciples the words of the Hallel, 

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

wake up each morning with thankfulness for your day.  

"this is the DAY that the LORD has made  

I choose to rejoice and be THANKFUL and GLAD that I 

am living and breathing - - I have LIFE

and I have the awesome privilege 

to experience all You have for me this DAY."
