step into the water

we are:  different sizes, shapes, hair color, skin color, DNA make-up, eye color, some of us have big noses, small noses, big lips, thin lips, different IQ, different talents - -

we are all different, diverse, unique, one of a kind.

we are all, however, human.
we are all made in the likeness of God.
we are all loved by our Creator.

do we celebrate our diversity
or
do we celebrate what unifies us?

do we think of ourselves as better than another human being
or
do we see ourselves as God sees us?

"warrior bride" is the theme for our ladies retreat this year.
since all of us are unique
i created 8 different woman
different in looks
diverse in background and heritage
yet
united because of love for Jehovah God, Jesus His Son and each other.

so often fear keeps us from stepping into the storm ridden sea
and making a difference in our world.

"i have no far-seeing plans, only confident trust.
on the top of those very billows which look as if they would overwhelm us
walks the Son of God."
Oswald Chambers: Abandoned to God

there are circumstances that can bind us up in fear or cause us to bury our head in the sand.  we have been called, instead,  to put on the whole armor of God, pray and fight the good fight of faith.

written on many of the paintings is the following encouragement;
Rise up - Woman of God
Claim your territory
Take back all that the enemy has stolen
We declare war on the enemy of our soul
